16 years of age minimum or junior in high school.

CASAS pre- and post-assessments are required after acceptance into the program.

Standard Class Day

Monday - Friday

12:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Program begins February 2025 and ends February 2026

Program Fees*

No cost for Hesperia Unified School District students.

$6250* payable by cashiers check or money order. You have the option to pay online (fees apply)

Additional Eligibility

  • No tongue or face piercing.

  • No visible tattoos.

  • No acrylic nails.

  • No drugs or alcohol use allowed at any time.

  • Plan on being employed in a dental related job soon after completion.

  • Must attend class during your assigned time during Hesperia calendar. Program extends into June.

  • If you are pregnant, you must have a note from your doctor giving you permission to take xrays, perform CPR

    and work with the chemicals in the lab using protective equipment.

Additional Information

Supplies - Each student is responsible for purchasing paper, notebooks, and personal supplies for the class.

Books - Provided

Uniforms - Ceil Blue uniforms are provided.

Vaccination - You must receive the 3 shot series of the Hepatitis B vaccine and a TB Test. Bring a copy of these shots on the first day of class.

Health Guidelines - California Department of Public Health guidelines for schools are in effect.

Supplies - Each student is responsible for purchasing paper, notebooks, and personal supplies for the class.

Books - (Adults) Purchase books online once you receive an acceptance letter. You must order the complete set of three books from the vendor online. No books are available for purchase on site.

Uniforms - (Adults) Ceil Blue. Uniforms are purchased at the school with the Bookkeeper. The cost of the uniforms is $40.00 per uniform (small - Xlarge),$45 XXL or larger paid with cashiers check or money order only.

As a  graduate from our Hesperia Dental Assisting program nearly 20 years ago, Kelly  began her career as a Registered Dental Assistant. After working as an RDA for 7 years, Kelly went on to continue her education and became a Registered Dental Hygienist. After numerous years of working in the dental field as a chairside clinician, Kelly took  courses to become a teacher in the dental field and is ecstatic to share her many years of dental knowledge and experience with students.  Kelly obtained her CTE credential in Health Science and Medical Technology from Los Angeles County of Education. Kelly is looking forward to watching her students excel and move on into a bright future in the dental field.

Susan Dahn

Susan Dahn

 Instructor

Susan graduated from the Dental Assisting class in 1980 and earned her RDA license in 1982. She worked in the industry from 1980 to 1994 where she held dental assisting, RDA and office manager positions. Susan attended Cal Poly Pomona to obtain her CTE Teaching Credential. She began teaching in 1994. Susan was honored with the teacher of the year from San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and Hesperia Unified School District. Susan is the Past President of the California Association of Dental Assisting Teachers (CADAT).  Currently serving as Treasurer. Her favorite part of teaching is seeing her students employed at local dental offices.  ​
